François Bergasse joined EasEnergy as CEO in September, 2005. He is a 17 year veteran of EDF where he has held a variety of positions in the Finance, Procurement, Strategy and Distribution Divisions. In 2003, he directed the first company-wide cost reduction initiative, which involved the recruitment, training, and management of a team of over 70 internal auditors.

François brings to EasEnergy a wide background and contacts across EDF’s operating divisions in France, which will help EasEnergy to implement its new strategy of accelerating sales opportunities for innovative North American companies with mature, commercially available products.

In his prior CEO experience, François has run companies in both entrepreneurial and international settings. In 2000, he launched a spin-off of EDF in the energy information services market, which was a licensee of the Silicon Energy platform for France. Prior to that, he spent four years in Indonesia in charge of the EDF team developing Independent Power Projects and engineering services contracts.

François holds advanced degrees in Management and Finance from the IAE Lyon and in Engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon.
