Stéphane Taunier

Archimedes

Joining Archimedes in 2004, Stéphane Taunier brought his expertise through his knowledge of material science and the corrosion process, helping Archimedes in the development of its innovative plasma process for nuclear waste recycling.

Starting as a research engineer within the R&D division of EDF, Stéphane worked on a variety of materials issues: synthesis, ageing, failure by corrosion. In his most recent position, he was involved in a large integrated project on new materials for solar energy applications, where he was in charge of the Development team. Through his work and research, Stéphane has released several scientific publications and participated as a speaker in scientific conferences both in France, Europe and in the US. He has also filed several patents in the field of new materials.

Stéphane obtained a PhD in Materials Chemistry in partnership with Saint-Gobain R&D in 1999. He acquired a broader expertise in materials science, later working for EDF R&D and several international organizations for over 5 years (Saint-Gobain, CNRS, ADEME, European projects).
