Konarka develops light-activated power plastic that is flexible, lightweight, lower in cost and much more versatile in application than traditional silicon-based solar cells. Using roll-to-roll manufacturing techniques, in a process similar to how magazines are printed, Konarka expects to produce PV materials in a wide range of custom form factors and colors at extremely low cost (<$1/W).

The Easenergy expert has brought his electrochemistry skills to to the design of the electrolyte and electrodes of Konarka’s solar cell.
